Silent Disco Brings Spooktacular Halloween Fun to Ladydale

Oct 31, 2026

There were plenty of smiles, singing voices and dancing feet at Ladydale Dementia Care Home this week as residents enjoyed a fabulously fun Halloween celebration complete with a silent disco, fancy dress, party games and a truly enormous buffet.

Entertainment was provided by Chris and his popular silent disco, giving residents the chance to enjoy the party in a way that suited them best. With everyone listening through headphones, residents could choose their own music and volume while still sharing the experience together. It created a lively atmosphere full of laughter, singing and dancing, without overwhelming anyone, making it a wonderful way for everyone to join in the fun comfortably.

The home was packed with Halloween spirit as residents and guests showed off their costumes, danced along to favourite tunes and enjoyed Chris’s party tricks throughout the afternoon. The competition for best fancy dress was fierce, but congratulations went to the lovely Keith and Marshall, who were crowned this year’s worthy winners.

No Halloween party would be complete without some frightfully good food, and the Ladydale kitchen team certainly delivered. Residents were treated to a gigantic buffet packed with delicious treats, along with an impressive selection of homemade cakes and spooky-themed cupcakes. Or should we call them “spoocakes”? We’re still undecided, but one thing is certain, they disappeared very quickly!

As well as being lots of fun, celebrations like these are incredibly important. Living in a care home should never mean missing out on the excitement, traditions and seasonal events that everyone else enjoys. From dressing up and dancing to sharing food and laughter with friends, occasions like Halloween help residents stay connected to the world around them, create happy memories and enjoy the simple pleasures that make each season special.

A huge thank you goes to Chris for providing such fantastic entertainment, to our wonderful kitchen team for the amazing buffet and sweet treats, and to everyone who came along and made the day such a spooktacular success.
