Brains, Burgers & Bragging Rights: A Fantastic Family Quiz Night at Gedling Village!

Oct 23, 2026

There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and wonderful togetherness at Gedling Village Care Home as residents, families, and friends came together for a fantastic Quiz Night.

The evening was a huge success, with everyone putting their knowledge to the test during a challenging quiz that certainly kept minds busy. After some tough questions and plenty of team discussions, huge congratulations goes to Roy’s family for taking the crown with 23 points!

No successful quiz night would be complete without great food, and guests enjoyed delicious burgers and fries that made the evening even more special. It was also lovely to welcome new families and see everyone getting to know one another in such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

Events like Quiz Night are about so much more than finding the right answers. They provide valuable opportunities for residents to socialise, build relationships, and share meaningful moments with family members and fellow residents. Coming together in a fun environment helps reduce feelings of isolation, encourages conversation, and strengthens the sense of community that makes Gedling Village such a special place to live.

Quiz activities also offer important cognitive benefits. Recalling facts, solving problems, and working as part of a team helps keep residents mentally stimulated and engaged. Exercising the brain in enjoyable ways can help support memory, concentration, and confidence, all while creating happy memories along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success. We loved seeing so many smiling faces and hearing so much laughter throughout the night.

Now we’re looking forward to our next celebration. We hope to see residents, families, and friends at our Halloween Party at 4pm on Friday 30th October, where there will be fancy dress prizes and plenty of spooky fun for everyone to enjoy!

Thank you to all who attended and helped create another memorable evening at Gedling Village Care Home.
