There was a sea of red and plenty of smiles at Brantley Manor Care Home as residents, relatives and team members gathered for a special coffee morning to raise money and awareness for Sepsis.
The event brought everyone together for a relaxed morning of conversation, refreshments and learning more about a condition that affects thousands of people every year. Thanks to the generosity of those who attended, the home successfully raised £30.50 for the cause.
Residents proudly showed their support by dressing in red, with several ladies and gentlemen keen to pose for photographs alongside the home’s colourful Sepsis awareness display board. Their enthusiasm certainly brightened the room, and a few residents joked that they were so well coordinated in their red outfits, they looked like they were about to start their own singing group!

The coffee morning provided an opportunity not only to raise funds but also to encourage important conversations about recognising the signs and symptoms of Sepsis. The awareness board became a real talking point throughout the event, helping residents and visitors learn more about the condition in an informal and engaging way.

Of course, no coffee morning would be complete without plenty of tea, coffee and a good chat. One gentleman humorously announced that he’d only come for “a quick cuppa” but somehow managed to stay long enough for a second slice of cake and several rounds of conversation. Another resident joked that the red dress code made everyone look so cheerful, it was impossible to tell who was there for awareness and who was there for the biscuits!
The event was a wonderful example of the caring community spirit that makes Brantley Manor such a special place. Every pound raised and every conversation shared helped shine a light on an important health issue while bringing people together for a meaningful and enjoyable morning.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who attended, donated and helped organise the event. Together, the Brantley Manor community raised awareness, supported an important cause and enjoyed a memorable morning filled with friendship, laughter and plenty of cups of coffee.
