We are absolutely delighted to announce the very first winner of the Regional Quarterly Star Staff Member Award — and what better person to start with than Jenny, Activities Co-ordinator at Hollybank Care Home!
Jenny joined Pearlcare back in April 2021, and throughout her time with us she has consistently shown just how much of a difference one person can make.
As an Activities Co-ordinator, Jenny plays a huge part in creating meaningful experiences, wonderful memories and moments of happiness for the residents at Hollybank. She doesn’t simply organise activities — she takes the time to understand what residents enjoy, what they would love to experience and what will bring a little extra excitement to their day.
And she certainly doesn’t do things by halves!
From creating bucket-list experiences for residents to arranging animal therapy visits, Jenny continually thinks outside the box to make sure residents have opportunities to experience something special.
These are the moments that matter.
The smiles, the laughter, the excitement when something they’ve been looking forward to finally happens — these are the memories that residents, families and staff will treasure.

What makes Jenny so deserving of this award isn’t simply the number of activities she organises.
It’s the care, thought and passion behind them.
Jenny goes above and beyond to make sure residents have opportunities to enjoy life, try new things and continue doing the things that bring them happiness.
She is someone who clearly understands that activities are an incredibly important part of care — helping people to maintain their interests, build relationships, create memories and, most importantly, have fun.
And her impact doesn’t stop with the residents of Hollybank.
Jenny goes above and beyond for her colleagues, her home and Pearlcare as a whole, and her enthusiasm and commitment are something that we genuinely appreciate.
A Very Worthy First Winner
The Regional Quarterly Star Staff Member Award was created to recognise the people across our homes who consistently go that extra mile.
Every three months, nominations will be considered from staff, residents, relatives, families and friends, with the aim of shining a light on someone who has made a genuine difference.
For our very first award, Jenny was an incredibly worthy choice.
Jenny, you go above and beyond not just for the residents of Hollybank, but for Pearlcare too.
We see the effort you put in.
We see the incredible experiences you create.
We see the difference you make.
