Heatherside Rest Home is a warm, welcoming residential care home dedicated to providing high‑quality support and a homely environment for our residents. Food plays an essential part in the health, wellbeing, and happiness of those we care for — and we’re looking for a Chef/Cook who shares our passion for nutritious, home‑cooked meals.
The Role
We are seeking a reliable, creative and compassionate Chef/Cook to join our team on a part‑time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook fresh, well-balanced meals and snacks for residents.
- Cater for dietary needs, allergies, preferences, and textured diets.
- Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment following food hygiene standards.
- Work collaboratively with care and management teams.
- Support menu planning and food ordering where required.
- Ensure a positive dining experience for all residents.
Hours & Pay
- 14–21 hours per week (alternating)
- Includes alternate weekends
- £14.40 per hour
About You
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Have experience cooking in a care home or similar environment (desirable but not essential).
- Are confident preparing meals from scratch.
- Understand food hygiene and safety regulations.
- Are friendly, organised, and passionate about good food and good care.
