Community Spirit Shines at Ladydale’s Summer Fair

Aug 17, 2026

There was a real buzz around Ladydale Care Home as residents, relatives, friends and members of the local community came together for a truly memorable Summer Fair. With music, laughter, stalls and plenty of friendly faces, the afternoon was filled with the kind of joy and togetherness that makes these events so special.

From the moment guests arrived, there was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the home. Residents enjoyed spending time with loved ones, catching up with friends and soaking up the excitement as visitors browsed the stalls, tried their luck in the raffle and joined in the celebrations. The event was a fantastic example of the strong community spirit that makes Ladydale such a special place to live and work.

The home would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, purchased raffle tickets, donated prizes and contributed items for the day. The kindness and generosity shown by so many people helped make the event an outstanding success and demonstrated just how much support there is for the residents.

Special thanks go to Geoff, whose fantastic entertainment kept everyone smiling and created a wonderful party atmosphere throughout the afternoon. The team would also like to thank Alison & Andrew and Lyd & Ploppy for giving up their time to help on a stall and support the event. Their help was greatly appreciated and played an important part in making the day run so smoothly.

A huge amount of work goes into organising an event like this and the home is incredibly grateful to its dedicated team. Thank you to Alice, Sophie, Katie, Liz, Caren, Di, Annalise, Jayne, Paige, Jo, Phoebe, Brandon and Shannon, whose hard work, enthusiasm and teamwork helped create such a fantastic day for everyone involved.

While the sunshine and entertainment certainly made the afternoon enjoyable, it was the smiles on residents’ faces and the sense of togetherness shared by everyone that made the event truly unforgettable. Seeing generations come together, friendships celebrated and the local community rally behind the home created a day full of special moments that will be remembered for a long time to come.

Someone did well at the “wine or water” game!!

The Summer Fair also raised an incredible £830 for the Residents’ Comfort Fund, helping to support future activities, experiences and little extras that make such a difference to residents’ quality of life.

Everyone at Ladydale Care Home would like to thank every single person who played a part in making the Summer Fair such a wonderful occasion. It was an afternoon filled with fun, friendship and community spirit, and a perfect reminder of what can be achieved when people come together.
