There has been plenty of creativity, laughter and imagination flowing through The Old Rectory Care Home recently, thanks to our wonderful Monday arts and crafts sessions led by our incredible volunteer, Rachel.
Each week, Rachel generously gives her time to inspire residents with fun and engaging craft activities, helping everyone explore their creativity while enjoying each other’s company. From colourful decoupaged jars to beautifully decorated wooden coasters and charming hanging decorations, our talented residents have been hard at work creating a fantastic collection of handmade treasures.
Not only have these sessions produced some wonderful crafts, but they have also created opportunities for residents to socialise, learn new skills and experience the joy that comes from making something with their own hands. Finding new and meaningful ways to engage and stimulate residents every day is such an important part of life at The Old Rectory. Activities like arts and crafts encourage creativity, boost confidence, spark conversation and bring a real sense of achievement.
The finished creations are now available to purchase in reception at The Old Rectory, with all funds raised going directly towards resident activities. Whether you’re looking for a unique gift or simply want to support a fantastic cause, we’d love for you to come along and take a look at our wonderful handmade wares.
We would also like to give a very special shout-out to Rachel. She volunteers her time purely out of kindness and a desire to bring fun, joy and inspiration to both residents and staff. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and the positive impact she has on our home each week is truly appreciated by everyone.
