Gedling Village Care Home is embracing a vibrant and engaging March, offering residents a rich programme of events designed to bring joy, stimulation, and connection. Activities throughout the month include the ever‑popular Community Café, the meaningful Dementia Denim Day, and the heart‑warming Goosey Ganders Stay & Play sessions that bring different generations together. Residents can also look forward to therapeutic interactions through Animal Therapy, as well as live entertainment from singer Sarah Bright, adding music and atmosphere to the home.
The home is also celebrating several special occasions in style. March highlights include the Annual Mother’s Day Dinner, a cherished tradition that brings families together, along with festive celebrations for St Patrick’s Day featuring Andy Reeves. To round out the month, residents and staff will join in the fun and fundraising spirit of Comic Relief, ensuring that community, compassion, and enjoyment remain at the heart of everything they do.
A look back at February
February at Gedling Care Home was bursting with energy and smiles as residents sang their hearts out, danced with staff and visitors, and got creative with bright, cheerful colouring sessions that brought a touch of spring indoors. Laughter echoed through the home during lively games of bingo and the ever‑popular tin can alley, where plenty of determination (and muscle!) went into knocking those tins down. There was pampering too, with residents looking fabulous after fresh hair styling sessions courtesy of the home’s brilliant stylist. And to top it all off, a visit from the “dice and ball” team brought balloon animals galore—balloon dogs, karaoke, swaying to music, and smiles all round.

February was filled with joy at the care home as residents and staff came together to celebrate two wonderful birthdays — Anne and Danny. Anne’s special day was marked with warm wishes and plenty of love from everyone, making her feel truly cherished on her birthday. Danny also enjoyed a heart‑warming celebration, surrounded by smiles and good spirits as residents and staff joined in to wish him a fantastic day. Both birthdays brought the home even closer together, reminding everyone just how special these moments of shared happiness can be.
