As summer continues, we have an exciting month ahead at Gedling Village Care Home, with a fantastic range of activities designed to bring people together, promote wellbeing and create special memories.
From community events and exercise sessions, to relaxation therapies and delicious celebrations. August is shaping up to be one of our busiest and most enjoyable months yet.
Summer Fair Kicks Off the Fun
We begin the month with our much-anticipated Summer Fair on Saturday 8th August from 2pm to 4pm.
Residents, families, friends and members of the local community are invited to join us for an afternoon of entertainment, featuring a BBQ, craft stalls, tombola, raffle and music. Events like our Summer Fair are a wonderful opportunity to bring everyone together, and we are looking forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new visitors through our doors.

Keeping Active with Arthur Exercise Class
Staying active is important for maintaining both physical and mental wellbeing, which is why we are delighted to welcome residents to our Arthur Exercise Class on Monday 10th August at 10.30am.
This fun and gentle exercise session is designed to encourage movement, improve mobility and help residents stay engaged in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Most importantly, it promises plenty of laughter along the way.
Intergenerational Fun at Goosey Ganders
One of the highlights of the month will be our Goosey Ganders Stay and Play Pre-School Group on Tuesday 11th August at 10am.
These intergenerational sessions are always hugely popular, providing residents and young children with the opportunity to spend time together through games, activities and play. The visits create meaningful connections across generations and bring so much joy to everyone involved.

Relaxation and Wellbeing with Massage and Reiki
Looking after emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical health, and on Monday 17th August, residents will have the opportunity to enjoy a special Massage and Reiki session with Hayley.
Designed to promote relaxation, comfort and wellbeing, the session offers residents the chance to unwind and enjoy some peaceful time focused on mind, body and spirit.
Turning Up the Heat on National Hot and Spicy Day
Things are set to get a little fiery on Wednesday 19th August as we celebrate National Hot and Spicy Day.
Residents can look forward to enjoying a variety of delicious hot and spicy treats as we embrace the fun of this unique national celebration. Whether residents love a little warmth or enjoy trying something new, it promises to be a flavour-filled day packed with laughter and conversation.

Every Voice Matters
At Gedling Village Care Home, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to share their views and help shape life within the home.
That’s why our Residents’ Meeting will take place on Wednesday 26th August at 11am. These meetings give residents the chance to share ideas, suggestions and feedback, ensuring their voices remain at the heart of everything we do. It is also a valuable opportunity for residents and the team to come together and discuss future activities and plans.
Looking Forward to a Wonderful Month
August promises to be a month filled with fun, friendship, wellbeing and community spirit at Gedling Village Care Home. Whether we are welcoming visitors to our Summer Fair, enjoying time with local children, keeping active, relaxing with therapies or celebrating special themed days, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
We look forward to sharing these moments with our residents, families and friends throughout the month and making August another memorable chapter in life at Gedling Village Care Home.
