Just when you thought Christmas was over and all the party gossip was brushed under the carpet, along come the local newspaper to publish an article about it!
Luckily, all the gossip and stories from Hollybank care home, were all feel good stories, with no embarrassing photos this year!
The North West Evening Mail were on hand to capture the wonderful festivities that were on full display at Hollybank. There was no expense or effort spared from the staff or the residents, as they all celebrated wholeheartedly with full dress up, Santa’s reindeers, mince pies (THE most important addition to any Christmas party!) and even a beautiful school choir.

Huge credit has to go to Jenny Oliver, our activities co-ordinator at Hollybank. Jenny went above and beyond, bigger and better than any other year, to make Christmas a truly special period for residents along with their friends and families.
It was always going to be hard to top last year, where we were able to purchase a tablet, thanks to generous donations! This tablet allows residents at Hollybank to Skype their families, allowing them to be together, even when they can’t be together.
We do, however, think we managed it – Or maybe it was all the mulled wine talking!

We would like to thank everyone who contributed their time, efforts and generous donations into making this a really special Christmas for everyone residing in, or working at Hollybank, it makes a huge difference when we have such genuine engagement and makes all the hard work worthwhile.
Everyone at Hollybank has been smiling and talking about the festivities since and we’re pretty sure one of the residents has kept a reindeer somewhere, as we keep finding hay about the place!
Thanks also to North West Evening Mail for coming down and capturing some beautiful moments throughout the day. We’ve already started planning for next year and we can’t wait to see you there!
