May was a truly uplifting month at Heatherside Care Home, filled with simple pleasures and meaningful moments that brought residents together. As the warmer weather arrived, everyone embraced the sunshine by creating their own homemade ice lollies, choosing fruity flavours and enjoying the process of making refreshing treats from scratch.
This fun and interactive activity sparked plenty of conversation, with residents sharing fond memories of summer holidays and favourite childhood treats.
The gardens also became a hub of activity, with many enjoying time outdoors tending plants, watering flowers and helping to grow fruits, vegetables and herbs. These experiences nurture both wellbeing and a sense of satisfaction amongst both residents and staff.
The sense of community continued to shine through with a delightful visit from the local WI ladies, who spent time chatting with residents and hosting an engaging quiz. The afternoon provided a valuable opportunity for our residents to socialise, reminisce and enjoy friendly conversation, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the home.
Moments like these highlight the vibrant and supportive environment at Heatherside, where connection, companionship and shared experiences remain at the heart of daily life.
