Hollybank residents enjoyed a fantastic run-up to Wimbledon Finals Weekend as they swapped Centre Court for the care home terrace and celebrated one of Britain’s most loved sporting traditions in style.
The fun began with a lively game of balloon tennis, where residents showed off their competitive spirit, quick reactions and plenty of determination. Armed with homemade rackets and lots of enthusiasm, everyone enjoyed taking part, cheering each other on and sharing plenty of laughter along the way.
The Wimbledon-themed celebrations then continued outdoors with a special terrace lunch. Residents made the most of the lovely atmosphere as they relaxed together and enjoyed a traditional summer favourite – delicious strawberries and cream, served alongside refreshing glasses of Pimm’s.
The terrace provided the perfect setting to soak up the excitement of the Wimbledon finals, with residents chatting about memorable matches over the years, sharing sporting memories and enjoying each other’s company in the sunshine.
Activities like these are a wonderful way to bring people together, encourage gentle physical activity and create meaningful opportunities for social interaction. Most importantly, they help residents stay connected to the events and traditions that they have enjoyed throughout their lives.
