There are some milestones that deserve to be celebrated in style, and turning 40 is certainly one of them.
This month, Wellfield Care Home proudly celebrated its 40th birthday, marking four decades of dedicated care, friendship, laughter and support for generations of residents and families in the Hawarden community.
The special occasion brought everyone together for a day filled with joy and entertainment. Residents, relatives, staff and friends enjoyed a wonderful birthday celebration complete with a delicious cake, fantastic stalls, a talented magician and live music from a singer who helped create a truly festive atmosphere.
While the day itself was filled with smiles, music and celebrations, it was also a chance to reflect on the incredible journey that has brought Wellfield to this landmark anniversary.
Over the past 40 years, countless individuals have helped shape the home into the warm and welcoming place it is today. From former and current managers to dedicated care teams, domestic staff, kitchen teams, maintenance colleagues, activities coordinators, volunteers and supporters, every person has played a part in creating the caring environment that residents call home.
The anniversary provided a moment to recognise not only those who work within the home today, but also the many former staff members and managers whose commitment, compassion and hard work helped build the strong foundations that continue to support residents and families. Their contribution forms an important part of Wellfield’s story and legacy.
Most importantly, the celebration was about the people who have lived, worked, visited and supported Wellfield throughout the years. Every resident, relative, colleague and friend has helped create a community built on kindness, respect and genuine care.
As the candles were lit and the birthday cake was shared, there was a real sense of pride in everything that has been achieved during the past four decades. The smiles, memories and friendships created over the years are a testament to the dedication of everyone who has been part of the Wellfield family.
Forty years is an incredible achievement, and while the home proudly reflects on its history, the future is just as exciting.
