Feb 7, 2026

Message from our manager, Michelle

Welcome to our February update.
It’s been a busy month, our residents have been getting stuck in with lots of different activities to keep them all busy on these dismal days, we are all looking forward to brighter days and lots of fun in the spring.
We had our annual Food Safety Inspection and we achieved the 5 excellent rating for our Kitchen
In February we have got lots of different things planned and you are very welcome to come and join in with us.
I would like to thank you all for your continued support.
Many Thanks
Michelle

What we have going on this February

February is buzzing with colour, laughter and plenty of feel‑good moments at Gedling care home, as residents enjoy a packed calendar of fun-filled events to brighten the winter days. From heart‑warming Valentine’s celebrations and creative craft afternoons to lively music sessions, themed lunches and classic pancake‑flipping fun, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Friends, families and staff come together to share smiles, stories and sweet treats, creating a warm, joyful atmosphere that proves February is anything but dull. With so many chances to socialise, get creative and celebrate together, the month is shaping up to be a truly memorable one for residents and visitors alike.

Our employee of the month!
We are delighted to celebrate our Employee of the Month, Rahmon, who works as a Care Assistant. Rahmon’s kindness, dedication, and positive attitude brighten our care home every single day. He consistently goes above and beyond for residents, offering comfort, patience, and a friendly smile that makes everyone feel valued and at home. His teamwork, reliability, and genuine compassion truly reflect our values, and we are incredibly grateful for the difference he makes to residents, families, and colleagues alike.

Residents update

Meet Janice, Joan and Carol who are super popular residents here at Gedling. Janice recently spent time being pampered in the home and was the lucky recipient of a nice relaxing hand massage!

When we asked Joan how she would like to spend her day, Joan was adamant a trip to Sainsbury’s for some treats was in order, so we duly obliged!

Walnut cake, Reece’s chocolate and other goodies were rounded up. The only problem being, the chocolates didn’t make it to the check-out without being sampled!

Finally, a huge happy birthday and best wishes to Carol who celebrated with us, the only way we know how – With gifts, fun and of course plenty of delicious cake!
